What’s on in Hong Kong: February 2026

Looking for things to do in Hong Kong this February 2026? From Lunar New Year celebrations and pop-ups to local markets worth browsing, the month brings a mix of seasonal events and easy outings across the city. Here are a few highlights to have on your radar.

Lunar New Year lion and dragon dances at The Peninsula

Few Hong Kong traditions signal the start of the Lunar New Year quite like a lion dance, and The Peninsula Hong Kong continues its long-standing ritual with a morning performance in the hotel forecourt. Eight elaborately costumed lions and a dragon begin with the traditional eye-dotting awakening ceremony before moving through the lobby to bestow blessings and good fortune for the year ahead.

Guests lingering afterwards can continue the morning with a festive breakfast set at The Lobby, complete with a commemorative mahjong tile, or collect calligraphy fai chun outside Spring Moon and The Verandah later in the day. contact The Peninsula Hong Kong’s Dining Service team by phone at 2696 6691 or email at diningphk@peninsula.com.
