Hong Kong public holidays 2027 have officially been announced, and with a little strategic annual leave planning, there are several opportunities to turn short breaks into much longer holidays.
The Hong Kong Government’s 2027 public holiday calendar includes multiple long weekend opportunities, but the standout is an 11-day Easter and Ching Ming holiday stretch from late March into early April, achievable with just four days of annual leave. For many Hong Kong families already planning spring travel, it is likely to become one of the most in-demand holiday windows of the year.

Another particularly long break falls around National Day and Chung Yeung Festival in October, where taking four days of annual leave could create a 10-day holiday. There are also several opportunities throughout May, June and July to extend public holidays into longer weekends, including around Buddha’s Birthday, the Dragon Boat Festival and Hong Kong SAR Establishment Day.
For frequent travellers, the 2027 Hong Kong public holiday calendar is ideal for short-haul Asia getaways, extended Europe trips or simply slowing down in the city.
From a lifestyle perspective, Hong Kong’s 2027 public holidays offer something many residents increasingly value: the chance to properly switch off without exhausting annual leave balances in the process.
