From candlelit lobbies to storybook kingdoms, Hong Kong has slipped into its most enchanting season. Across the city, the man in red is making his rounds — appearing everywhere from luxury hotels to snowy theme parks — and this year’s line-up of Santa encounters promises more imagination, craftsmanship and wonder than ever before.
Santa’s Secret Kingdom: Hong Kong’s Most Immersive Santa Experience
Hong Kong’s most extraordinary Santa experience — arguably one of the finest globally — is brought to life by Lapland HK at Island Shangri-La, where the hotel’s festive transformation feels almost cinematic. The centrepiece is Santa’s Secret Kingdom: The Magic Menders, a richly imagined journey that begins with a personalised letter mailed to children ahead of their visit.
Once families arrive, they’re guided by the ever-cheerful Elf Wrinkle through a trio of beautifully staged rooms inside the Museum of Christmas Magic, each revealing a different “Christmas secret”: a music parlour where little ones unlock merry melodies, a toy workshop for crafting a soft companion, and a cosy creative space for making a keepsake decoration to take home. The experience culminates in an intimate meeting with Santa — complete with photographs and a sing-along — that feels as close to storybook Christmas as Hong Kong gets.
When: 29 November to 26 December
Where: Santa’s Secret Kingdom, Island Shangri-La
How much: HK$588 per person (both adults and children require tickets)

Meet the Santa: Intimate Storybook Moments at Island Shangri-La
Also at Island Shangri-La, Santa settles in for daily appearances from 6 December at his storybook-style Santa’s House on the Level 6 lobby, where he shares tales from his travels, hands out festive sweets to well-behaved little ones and poses for photographs before taking to the skies again.
It’s an intimate, quietly magical encounter for children hoping to whisper a wish or two before Christmas Eve. Each ticket includes a framed photograph and a pack of Santa’s selected candies — a sweet memento of a moment to treasure.
When: 6 to 26 December
Where: Lobby, Level 6, Island Shangri-La

The Murray Santa’s Grotto: A London-Style Christmas in Central
Step into a little slice of London in Central as The Murray’s Santa’s Grotto returns, dressed in Penhaligon’s finery and staffed by cheery elves ready with a complimentary framed instant photo for the mantelpiece. Children leave with a small gift, while grown-ups are treated to mulled wine and little ones sip hot chocolate or juice.
Set against the hotel’s soaring arches and festive floral displays, the experience feels wonderfully nostalgic — part London townhouse charm, part storybook magic. With limited sessions and thoughtful details throughout, this is one of the city’s most refined Santa encounters, combining warmth, style and a touch of British whimsy.
When: 6–7, 13–14 & 20–26 December; 3pm–6.30pm
Where: Level 2, The Murray, Hong Kong
How much: From HK$308 (includes admission for four guests)

Father Christmas Storytelling at Fortnum & Mason
Fortnum & Mason brings a touch of London tradition to Victoria Dockside this season with its much-loved Father Christmas Storytelling sessions. It’s an intimate, considered experience — more hushed library magic than mall spectacle — and adults can join without purchasing a separate ticket. For an extra treat, families can add on Fortnum’s Afternoon Tea afterwards, with children dining free when accompanied by an adult. Early booking is essential.

A Disney Christmas Celebration: Festive Magic with Santa Goofy at Hong Kong Disneyland
Not quite a traditional Santa meet-and-greet, but easily one of Hong Kong’s most spectacular festive experiences, Hong Kong Disneyland transforms into a glittering winter dream this season — with Santa Goofy stepping in as the jolliest host of all.
Inspired by the magic of Frozen, the park shimmers under snowfall as Anna, Elsa and Kristoff lead celebrations in World of Frozen, complete with ice sculptures, snow-capped trees and an Arendelle-worthy festive marketplace. Families can linger under twinkling lights at the nightly Holiday Wish-Come-True Tree Lighting Ceremony, where drones and snowfall create a moment of pure Disney theatre. And on select weekends, Disney Christmas Live in Concert! brings Santa Goofy and Disney friends to the stage alongside the Hong Kong Children’s Choir and rotating Cantopop headliners.
When: 14 November to 4 January
Where: Disneyland Hong Kong
