Christmas is in the air, and Hong Kong’s festive markets are bursting back to life. Whether you’re hunting for gifts, soaking up the atmosphere, or planning a family day out, these are the Christmas fairs and pop-ups to have on your radar this season.

Island Shangri-La’s Christmas Market

Island Shangri-La brings back its atmospheric Christmas Market from, transforming the hotel’s lobby into a polished showcase of seasonal craftsmanship. Expect limited-edition hand-moulded chocolates — from miniature Santas to intricate ornament piñatas — alongside praline-filled edible ornaments and customisable gingerbread creations. Chef Julien’s bakery counter remains the highlight, offering a heritage Christmas pudding, a Mandarin Earl Grey Yule Log modelled as a Shangri-La train, and beautifully made Stollen, panettone and mince pies. ICHK Kindergarten and Primary’s Magical Winter Wonderland

ICHK Kindergarten and Primary opens its doors to the wider community this year, welcoming everyone — not only ICHK families — to its festive after-school Winter Wonderland. Expect a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere with Christmas gift stalls and hands-on workshops, from creative art sessions to miniature terrarium making. Younger children will gravitate toward the ever-popular bouncy castle, alongside games and claw machines that keep the excitement going. Families are encouraged to bring picnic blankets and settle in for an outdoor movie under the stars, while Santa’s Christmas Grotto offers a memorable meet-and-greet with Santa and his elves. Tokens and Grotto tickets can be purchased at reception.

City Kids Christmas Fair

Set within the playground of its historic Grade II listed building on Borrett Road, the much-loved City Kids Christmas Fair is open to all — not just City Kids families — with free admission and no registration required. Little ones can bounce between the bouncy castle, climbing frame and festive craft stations, before settling in for face painting and a possible surprise visit from Santa himself. Parents can enjoy coffee and conversation while browsing a charming Christmas market featuring gifts from Hong Kong favourites such as Smart Mama, The Blomstre and House of Fine Wines. Expect a Feather & Bone BBQ, a parent-run bake sale, the all-essential coffee cart, and a raffle with generous prizes. As City Kids is a not-for-profit school, the fair serves as its biggest fundraiser of the year — a joyful way to celebrate the season while supporting the community. CDNIS Carnival

The Canadian International School of Hong Kong (CDNIS) Carnival returns promising a day of family fun, food and festive cheer. Wristbands (HK$280 at the door, required for children aged three and above) grant access to campus-wide attractions, from VR drones and giant slides to bouncy castles, obstacle courses and creative workshops. Free activities include student performances, games, and interactive installations, while special sessions — such as Santa photos, storytelling and a pickleball tournament — require pre-registration. Don’t miss the International Food Fair, Christmas Bazaar, and recycled book stall with books from $10. A complimentary shuttle runs between Wong Chuk Hang MTR and CDNIS from 10.10am. DB Christmas Market

A favourite on the festive calendar, the DB Christmas Markets return with waterfront editions across November and December. Expect a charming mix of stalls from independent makers and small businesses — from artisan crafts and seasonal treats to thoughtful stocking fillers. With its breezy seaside setting and relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere, it’s an easy weekend escape from the city and a lovely spot for relaxed Christmas shopping.

Highgate House School Christmas Fair

Highgate House School’s Christmas Fair returns to the Peak, bringing together seasonal crafts, children’s activities, puppet shows and a parent-led BBQ and bake sale. Activities include ceramic painting, candle-making, festive breadmaking, and outdoor play in the school’s 3,000 sq ft garden, culminating in a special puppet show finale. A curated mix of vendors adds a touch of Christmas shopping, while pre-purchased tokens help keep queues short. This event is open to everyone with proceeds supporting school renovations — a warm, community-minded way to start the season.

Prestige Fairs

A long-standing fixture on Hong Kong’s festive calendar, Prestige Fairs return this December with two weekday editions, once again transforming the Conrad’s Grand Ballroom into a vibrant showcase of over 150 independent brands, artisans and gourmet producers. Christmas House Market

Upper House Hong Kong brings back its much-loved Christmas House Market, a cosy showcase of homegrown brands and locally made gifts. Expect a thoughtful mix of kids’ clothing, fragrances, jewellery and artisanal culinary treats, alongside a children’s workshop offering creative activities for little ones. Guests can browse, sip mulled wine and enjoy seasonal snacks, with all profits from the Upper House stall going to Mother’s Choice — a festive celebration with community at its heart.
