Where to eat and drink in Hong Kong this May 2026

From new Central openings and champagne-led evenings to one-off chef collaborations, vinyl nights and refreshed weekend brunches, Hong Kong’s dining scene has plenty to explore this May. Here are the new restaurants, bars and dining events to book now.

A nostalgic Hong Kong feast throughout May at Clipper Lounge

Before Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong enters its summer recess, Clipper Lounge is serving one final dinner buffet that feels like a love letter to the city’s culinary history. The Flavours of Hong Kong evening buffet brings together nostalgic local favourites, from cart noodles and Shatin chicken congee to crispy roast meats, Hong Kong-style egg waffles and classic pineapple buns with salted egg custard. Alongside the comforting classics, there’s also an indulgent spread of premium seafood including Boston lobster, Alaskan king crab legs and abalone, plus an extensive dessert selection inspired by old Hong Kong sweets and cha chaan teng flavours. Running daily throughout May, it’s a fitting farewell before Clipper Lounge reopens later this year with a new chapter. The buffet is priced at $988 per adult and $588 per child.

Vinyl evenings at Felix

High above the harbour, Felix is slowing things down with its new Analogue Record Series, held every Thursday from 8pm. Instead of a big DJ night, expect vinyl played from a central booth, with the music kept at a level that still lets you talk. The mood is part listening lounge, part late-night bar, with record-shaped menus, cocktails at HK$188, and easy snacks including shrimp toast, popcorn and mini burgers. A good one for anyone after a more relaxed night out with a view. The Analogue Record Series takes place every Thursday from 8 pm to 11 pm.

A new Champagne bar at The Landmark

With the hotel set to reopen at the beginning of June, The Landmark Mandarin Oriental is already giving guests something to look forward to with the launch of Blanc de Noirs this month. An intimate, champagne-led addition to Central, the space sits above the hotel’s acclaimed seventh floor and pairs black-and-white marble with soft lighting and a quietly atmospheric mood. The drinks programme centres on 25 champagnes by the glass, alongside a deep cellar of rare bottles, champagne flights, a nightly Champagne O’clock ritual and classic-inspired cocktails. Food by Richard Ekkebus keeps things deliberately light, from caviar-topped bites to carved-to-order charcuterie, making this an elegant, easy spot to return to.

A new Indian chop house lands in Central

There’s been plenty of buzz around Punjab Warriors, the new Indian chop house on Lyndhurst Terrace that brings together charcoal cooking, bold Punjabi flavours and the easy energy of a sports bar. Led by Chef Angshuman Adhikari, formerly of London’s Brigadiers and Michelin-starred Gymkhana, the menu is made for sharing, with tandoori mixed grills, garam masala butter-slicked T-bones, tomahawks, lamb chops and comforting curries, alongside gin goblets and Indian pale ales. Lively, generous and full of flavour, it has all the makings of a proper Central night out.
