This year, The Green Power Hike<\/a> offers three routes running from The Peak to Big Wave Bay (50km); Tai Tam Country Park to Big Wave Bay (25km) and Aberdeen Country Park to The Hong Kong Girl Guides Association Sandilands Centre (10km). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Green Power Hike focuses on a \u201cLeave-No-Trace<\/a>\u201d concept with participants encouraged to take their own rubbish away, recycle and reduce usage. A green approach is adopted throughout the planning of the hike with materials reduced and reused as much as possible. During the event day, no disposable cups or bottles are distributed and collection bins are set up for sorting recyclables and fruit peels. Funds raised go towards the environmental education works of Green Power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The full race is 42km, and there is also a half marathon and a 10 km wheelchair race.
